We invite applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of quantum optics, with preference for experimentalists. Although we are interested in junior applicants, highly qualified senior appointments will also be considered.
The Optical Fiber Communications Laboratory is seeking postdoctoral fellows and graduate students to participate in research in integrated photonic systems for applications in communication, signal processing/computing, power photonics and imaging.
Research group interests encompass studying arrays of semiconductor diode lasers in the wavelength range of 400-500 and 800-1000 nm. In particular, we are interested in studying beam combining of semiconductor diodes in 1-D arrays as well as beam combining semiconductor diodes in 2-D stacked-arrays.
We are studying dynamics of semiconductor diodes operating in CW and pulsed (in particular, ultrashort pulsed) regimes as well as dynamics and phase locking of large semiconductor diode laser arrays.
Topics of interest may include information and data processing using nonlinear methodologies such as reservoir and neuromorphic computing, studying effects of environmental noise on information processing, weak signal amplification and identification, and information processing employing arrays of neural and other types of nonlinear oscillators.
