Tao Zhan wins first place in SPIE AR VR XR optical design challenge

After a series of presentations and review panels, Tao Zhan from Dr. Shin-Tson Wu‘s LCD research group won first place in the SPIE AR VR XR optical design challenge and received a $5000 scholarship. The challenge provides a unique opportunity for students to demonstrate their design and creativity to top AR, VR companies.

Last year, former student Guanjun Tan (now at Apple) also won this award, thereby making it two years in a row that a CREOL student has brought back the first place prize!
