Dr. Xiaoming Yu received his BS in Physics from Nankai University, China, in 2008, MS in Plasma Physics from Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics in 2012, and PhD in Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Kansas State University in 2016. His research interest is in laser-matter interaction and laser-based advanced manufacturing.
Research GroupWe seek scientific understanding of ultrafast laser – solid material interaction, and develop novel laser-based technologies for advanced manufacturing. Research interests include laser-induced nonequilibrium, electron dynamics control, ultrafast laser micro/nano processing, and laser-based additive manufacturing.
