M. J. Soileau’s guest editorial tells the story of how the College of Optics and Photonics (CREOL) at the University of Central Florida quickly grew from its inception to become one of the premier programs in optics and lasers.
Also, in the same issue, a paper titled “Multioctave supercontinuum from visible to mid-infrared and bend effects on ultrafast nonlinear dynamics in gas-filled hollow-core fiber” by Professor Rodrigo Amezcua-Correa and a paper titled “Exploring the Limits of Semiconductor Laser-based Optical Frequency Combs” by Professor Peter Delfyett were selected as an OSA Editor’s Picks. Editor’s Picks serve to highlight articles with excellent scientific quality and are representative of the work taking place in a specific field.
