Nobel Laureate Donna Strickland Speaks with Spring 2020 CREOL Grads

Nobel Laureate Donna Strickland joined UCF College of Optics and Photonics graduates for a live Q&A session after their virtual commencement ceremony on Saturday May 2, and the public was invited to watch online.

Strickland is renowned as one of the world’s leading pioneers in the field of ultrafast lasers. Her research with French physicist Gérard Mourou led to the creation of high-intensity, ultrashort laser pulses resulting in a multitude of industrial and medical applications, including Lasik eye surgery and advances in industrial machining.
