The Finance/Budget Analyst II will process financial transactions within the university’s financial systems. This position will also prepare statements and reports relating to an assigned area of responsibility and apply university accounting policies and procedures. The Analyst is tasked with assembling, analyzing, reconciling data and transactions, and making necessary adjustments with proper internal controls. They will also assist with budgeting in Adaptive Planning.
Responsibilities:
- Create and produce timely monthly financial operating and budget variance reports. Provide routine financial analysis, in addition to an ad hoc basis, to management. Collaborate on budget planning with the budgeting team.
- Approve, deny, or return Workday spend and HR transactions. Review, reconcile, and validate Workday Worktags; initiate Worktag changes as needed.
- Prepare Accounting Adjustments and Payroll Accounting Adjustments as needed.
- Coordinate the budgeting and payroll allocations for graduate assistantships for CREOL including, but not limited to, tuition waiver allocations/payments and Foundation Scholarship/Fellowship payments.
- Work with the Finance Director within Adaptive for budget planning purposes.
- Work closely with other members of the business center to disseminate accounting information and ensure compliance.
- Other duties as assigned to accomplish the overall mission of the College including, but not limited to, the timely completion of university and college trainings and updates.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience or combination of relevant comparable education and experience pursuant to Fla. Stat. 112.219. Click here for more information
Preferred Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related field, ideally within higher education, grants, or a research setting.
- Advanced proficiency in financial analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, charts, and macros.
- Previous experience with reconciliations and data analysis.
- Demonstrated experience in critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical decision-making.
- Familiarity with Workday Adaptive or similar financial systems is preferred.
- Proven ability to effectively communicate with all stakeholders, including the preparation and discussion of financial reports and recommendations.
- Excellent organizational skills with careful attention to detail and accuracy.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
