CREOL, The College of Optics & Photonics
University of Central Florida
CREOL, The College of Optics and Photonics at the University of Central Florida, invites applications for several tenure-track or tenured faculty positions at all ranks and in all areas of optics and photonics. Examples include, but are not limited to, high-power lasers, ultrafast lasers, fiber lasers, nonlinear optics, integrated photonics, nanophotonics, quantum optics, infrared systems, computational photonics, and optical materials.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in optics or closely related discipline and a strong research experience with a record of scholarly publications. The successful candidate is expected to develop and maintain a high-quality, externally funded research program and to contribute to the educational programs of the college.
CREOL is one of the world’s foremost institutions for research and education in optical and photonic science and engineering. It offers interdisciplinary graduate programs leading to M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Optics and Photonics, and a BS degree in Photonic Science and Engineering. The faculty and students are engaged in research covering all aspects of optics and photonics including lasers; optical fibers; integrated photonics; nonlinear and quantum optics; imaging, sensing and display. Over the years, the college has maintained a tradition of promoting growth in optics and photonics and a strong partnership with industry. UCF, with an enrollment of more than 68,000 students and growing, is located in Orlando, which is centrally positioned in Florida’s High Tech Corridor between Tampa/St. Petersburg, and Cape Canaveral.
Candidates must apply online at www.ucf.edu/jobs/ (links found below), and include supporting documents such as a curriculum vita, statement of research and teaching plan, and names of three references.
