CREOL Offers Research Opportunity for Undergraduate Students
Open to non-UCF students looking to gain photonics experience
Non-UCF undergraduate students have the chance to experience CREOL and the innovation that happens here.
A new Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) site at CREOL will welcome 10 students for 10 weeks in summer 2025. The program will focus on lasers, which drive modern research in physics, chemistry, and biology. Lasers are also a vital tool in manufacturing and medicine, and the heart of Internet communications. Due to its scientific and technological importance and far-reaching impacts in modern society, laser research has advanced at a very fast pace.
The REU is supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), and by a grant provided to NSF by the Semiconductor Research Corporation. Students who are selected will receive a $7,000 stipend.
