The alma mater of Pegasus Professor Kathleen Richardson, Ph.D., recently dedicated a story to her success in the April issue of the university magazine.
Richardson acquired all three of her degrees from Alfred University, where she exceled in ceramics engineering studies. Following her bachelor’s degree, Richardson pursued a master’s part-time, while working at the University of Rochester Laboratory of Laser Energetics. Her specialty in optics and glass was developed and fine-tuned while pursuing her terminal degree.
The article covers Richardson’s path to CREOL, the College of Optics and Photonics, including the network of Alfred University alumni she was able to connect with to develop a student internship program at Savannah River National Laboratory in Aiken, South Carolina. Richardson has served on the Alfred University Board of Trustees since 2006.
