Félicie Albert ’04 was named the 2022 CREOL Alumna of the Year. Dr. Albert received her master’s degree in Optics from UCF, where she worked in Craig Siders’ group. Prior to attending CREOL, she earned her bachelor’s degree in engineering from the École Nationale Supérieure de Physique de Marseille. After completing her master’s degree, she went on to earn her PhD in physics in 2007 from the École Polytechnique in France.

Dr. Albert is currently the deputy director of the Center for High Energy Density (HED) Science at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and a staff scientist with the National Ignition Facility and Photon Science Directorate and the Joint High Energy Density Sciences organization. She was awarded a 2016 DOE Early Career Award and received the Presidential Early Career Award for Scientists and Engineers (PECASE) in 2019. She also leads several Laboratory Directed Research and Development projects at LLNL. Dr. Albert received the 2017 APS-DPP Katherine E. Weimer Award for outstanding contributions to plasma science research and the 2017 Edouard Fabre Prize for contributions to the physics of laser-produced plasmas.
