t<\/b><b>he College of Optics and Photonics<\/b><b>, University of Central Florida.<\/b><\/h4><div><span style=\"color: #444444;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/div><div>We conduct research in\u00a0ultrafast laser material processing, and ultrafast laser-solid interaction.<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>We are interested in both fundamental and application aspects of light-matter interaction on ultrafast temporal scale, micro- to nanometer spatial scale, and broad spectral bandwidth. We seek fundamental new knowledge about the complex\u00a0phenomenon in the interaction between condensed matter and high-intensity laser fields. Phenomena of interest include multiphoton and tunneling ionization, avalanche ionization, laser-plasma coupling, and the material removal process. At the other end of the spectrum, we target at developing novel laser-based advanced manufacturing capabilities based on the fundamental knowledge of light-matter interaction.
