Laboratory is studying different laser-induced spectroscopic techniques in order to develop our knowledge in laser-matter interactions and to apply the results for developing sensing technology of chemical and biological threats. The different projects LSSL is presently developing are mainly focused on Laser-Induced Plasma Spectroscopy in the scope of a Multidisciplinary University Research Initiative \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Ultrafast Laser Interaction Processes for LIBS and other Sensing Technologies. The projects cover an broad area from experimental techniques to characterize the plasma thermodynamics (space- and time-resolved studies) to modeling efforts in order to understand the plasma dynamics and chemistry in a reactive atmosphere like air.
